AUGUST 10th

Day Trip · Lake Bled

Join us on a day trip to Lake Bled, approximately 50 minutes from Ljubljana. For those without a car, we will help coordinate carpooling. With activities for kids, restaurants, and plenty to explore, it’s a great way to spend the day – and for those up for it, a climb up the iconic 99 steps (a local tradition, with carrying your partner encouraged... IYKYK).

Wedding Day · Grad Otočec

Arrival at 3:00 PM at Grad Otočec, followed by the ceremony and an evening of dinner and dancing.

Guests are welcome to join us for an informal brunch at Grad Otočec that morning – feel free to stop by before parting ways.

Getting There

Closest Airports:
Ljubljana (LJU) – approximately 1 hour
Zagreb (ZAG) – approximately 1 hour
Venice (VCE) – approximately 3.5 hours


Shuttle transportation from Zagreb to Grad Otočec can be arranged upon request.

If you’re planning to rent a car in Slovenia, an International Driving Permit (IDP) is recommended and may be required by some rental agencies. These can be obtained in Canada prior to travel (e.g., through CAA).

Occidental Ljubljana is a modern hotel just a short walk from the Old Town. This is where we will be staying in the days leading up to the wedding.

Alternatively, Ljubljana offers many beautiful places to stay, including boutique hotels and Airbnbs, so please choose what feels best for you.

Grad Otočec will be reserved for the wedding party and immediate family on the night of the wedding. We’ve included nearby accommodation options below for guests.

Just steps from Grad Otočec

A room block has been reserved at Hotel Šport, just a short walk from Grad Otočec. Golf cart shuttles will be available, making this the most convenient option for our guests.

A short drive from Grad Otočec

Located a short drive from Grad Otočec, Hotel Dolenjc offers a comfortable stay just outside the immediate area of the venue. As it is slightly further away, transportation can be arranged if there is enough interest.

Black Tie Optional
Formal attire is requested. We encourage guests to wear black or dark tones in keeping with the overall aesthetic of the celebration.

August in Otočec, Slovenia is warm and generally not overly humid, with comfortable evenings.

Please note the venue includes grass, gravel, and cobblestone – stilettos are not recommended.

CHILDREN

Children are welcome to join us for the ceremony and cocktail hour. Due to capacity, the dinner reception will be an adult-only celebration.

Infants under 18 months are welcome to remain with their parents throughout the evening.

We are currently exploring childcare options at Hotel Šport during the evening. Please indicate your interest when RSVPing.

A recommended option for those arranging their own childcare is included below.

TRANSPORTATION

Grad Otočec is a short walk from Hotel Šport. Golf cart shuttles will be available for guest convenience throughout the evening.

For guests staying elsewhere, taxi services will be readily available from the castle.

For guests staying at Hotel Dolenjc, please indicate this when RSVPing. Should there be sufficient interest, transportation will be arranged to and from the venue.

PARKING

Parking is available just across the river from the castle, a short walk from the venue.

GIFTS

Your presence at our wedding is truly the greatest gift, and no gifts are expected.

For those who wish to give, a monetary gift is greatly appreciated. For ease and convenience, electronic transfer details will be shared closer to the date.
